In 1920, the Dassler brothers started manufacturing their first sport shoes in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria. Because of their excellent quality, Dassler shoes quickly came to a high reputation among athletes and therefore helped Jesse Owens, to win his four gold medals at the 1936 Olympics.
After the company has been established by Adi Dassler in 1948, the original 3 stripes were introduced one year later and can subsequently be found on all models today.
